Where is your jewelry made?
Our jewelry is made in France, in a workshop that supplies the greatest houses of the Place Vendôme. This workshop, one of the best in France, has the label “artisan d’art” and several of its employees are “Meilleurs Ouvriers de France”.
What is the background of the founders?
Hélène and Jeanne Karpov come from the small and demanding world of Parisian high jewelry. They have worked, and still draw, for the greatest houses on the Place Vendôme. As pure creatives, they learned drawing, and in particular the very special art of jewelry “gouaché”, at the Applied Arts School of the Buttes Chaumont in Paris. Twin sisters, born in Paris of a Russian art historian father and French mother fond of music and museums, they draw with four hands and infuse their creations with inspirations from Russia, their own personal elegance, and a certain idea of Paris.
Is your jewelry certified?
Yes, every Karpov piece comes with a certificate.
Where do you buy your stones?
We source our stones from Parisian and international dealers known for the quality of their material. Hélène and Jeanne also travel to the biggest international fairs, such as Basel and Hong Kong, to select stones.
Are your stones ethical?
Hélène and Jeanne source diamonds exclusively from dealers with a guaranteed “conflict-free” stock. Regarding coloured stones, their initial provenance remains difficult to certify but Hélène and Jeanne have chosen to work with dealers whose values and vision they share.
Which quality of diamond do you use?
Our jewelry is made with FGVS diamonds for both the pavage and central stones. As a comparison, many great houses on Place Vendôme use mostly GVS diamonds, that is one grade lower than the diamonds used by Karpov.
Is your gold ethical?
It is strictly traced. The workshop that manufactures our jewelry buys its gold exclusively from Cookson, France’s biggest gold refiner, member of the Responsible Jewellery Council and certified ISO 14001.
Is your gold nickel-free?
Yes. Please note that our white gold is made of grey gold plated with palladium, which doesn’t get yellow, unlike grey gold plated with rhodium.
What is your delivery window?
Our jewelry is made locally, on order, just for you. You will receive it within approximately four weeks.
Do you accept bespoke orders?
Yes. For any enquiry write to email@example.com.
The design I like exists only in white gold. Can I order it in yellow or rose gold?
Of course. Just send your request to firstname.lastname@example.org. Just note that your jewelry having been made exclusively for you, exchanges and refunds won’t be possible.
Are the high jewelry pieces available for order?
Absolutely. To get a quote, just write to email@example.com and make sure you mention the design you are interested in. After you accept the quote, your piece will be made to order in a Parisian workshop specialised in high jewelry. Please note, however, that special orders have a longer delivery window.
I picked the wrong size, what do to?
No problem: the first resizing is free. You’ll only have to pay for shipping.
Is your jewelry guaranteed?
Our jewelry is guaranteed against potential manufacturing defects but not against daily wear, shocks or insufficient care. You will find more information about this in our Terms & Conditions.
What is the best way to take care of my jewelry?
First of all, don’t wear it to practice sports or carry heavy objects. Avoid contact with chemicals, dishwashing liquid especially. Clean it regularly with slightly soapy lukewarm water and a soft brush. Finally, handle it with care: jewelry is fragile, be gentle!
Are you transactions and shipments secure?
Yes. Payments on our site are processed by a secure payment gateway and all our shipments are insured.
Can I buy a gouaché?
Yes! Just email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the reference of the gouaché you like.
